In short: what is autoclave-cured carbon?
It is a composite in which carbon-fibre plies and resin are vacuum-bagged and cured in a sealed chamber through a controlled cycle of heat, vacuum and external pressure. The process consolidates the plies into a rigid, precise shell while reducing trapped air and internal voids. In KADOSH³ cases, carbon is the case body itself, not decorative film applied to another material.

What happens inside the autoclave
After the carbon plies are arranged in the mould, the layup is vacuum-bagged and enters an autoclave cure cycle matched to the resin system.
Heat cures the resin while vacuum and external pressure consolidate the plies, remove trapped air and reduce internal voids. This is controlled curing, not ordinary drying.
The result is a composite in which fibres and resin act as one structure. Our specification is designed for a Torah case; we do not claim it is identical to an aerospace specification.
What 3K, 6K and 12K mean
K refers to the approximate number of individual carbon filaments in one tow: 3,000 in 3K, 6,000 in 6K and 12,000 in 12K.
12K is not automatically four times stronger than 3K. Performance also depends on fibre and weave type, fabric weight, resin content, ply count, fibre orientation, stacking sequence, cure cycle and product geometry.
We therefore use these values as engineering tools, not marketing scores.
The new generation: 3K / 12K / 3K
The previous generation used six 6K plies. Development with our exclusive manufacturing partner led to the new 3K / 12K / 3K layup.
The outer 3K plies provide a fine, precise surface and the characteristic carbon texture. The inner 12K ply forms an efficient structural core.
The new combination reduced body weight by approximately 5% compared with the previous construction, as part of development for carrying, lifting and dancing with a Torah scroll.

- Is this structural carbon or a coating?
- Carbon is part of the composite case body itself, not veneer, film or a decorative layer over another structural material.
- Is 12K stronger than 3K?
- Strength cannot be determined from K alone. K describes filament count per tow; performance comes from the complete layup and manufacturing process.
- Why does lower weight matter?
- A Torah case must protect and remain stable, while every added gram is felt during carrying, lifting and dancing. The structure is therefore engineered for efficiency, not appearance alone.
