A Torah scroll written through us costs between 90,000 and 125,000 ILS. The price is set by three things: the parchment type (processed klaf or traditional gevil), the individual sofer, and the writing speed. Most sofrim write one scroll per year; some complete a scroll in about three months. Please note: this price is for the scroll and parchment only — the Torah case, rimonim, crown, holy ark and other accessories are budgeted separately.

What moves the price within the range
Parchment: a scroll on processed klaf and a scroll on gevil (whole-hide, traditionally prepared parchment) are priced differently, and the choice is also a matter of tradition — gevil is customary in the Yemenite community, for example.
The sofer: years of experience, the quality of the hand and specialization in a particular tradition all affect the price, exactly as they affect the character of the scroll.
Writing speed: most sofrim write one scroll a year. When a scroll is needed in about three months, that means a sofer available for intensive writing or a special arrangement — and it is reflected in the price.
What a complete budget for a new scroll includes
The scroll itself: 90,000–125,000 ILS, per the three factors above. This price is for the parchment and writing only; the case, rimonim, crown, ark and accessories are additional.
The Torah case: wood from 19,000 ILS, or carbon at a 40,000 ILS base price. In a combined order with the writing, the carbon case never goes below 29,000 ILS.
A matching Haftarah case: typically 45%–50% of the Torah case price, at 45%–50% of its height — so the two read as one system in the ark.

How to choose without getting lost
First define the tradition and custom — Ashkenazi, Sephardi, Yemenite or Chabad — because that sets the script, the parchment and also the case style.
Then choose a sofer by hand and availability, and only then lock the schedule and proofing.
The case is measured against the scroll actually written, not the other way round — so the final quote is closed after the scroll is measured.

- Because a Torah scroll is handwritten by one sofer over many months. The parchment type, the sofer's identity and the writing speed all change the cost, so the honest range is 90,000–125,000 ILS.
- Does the price include the case and accessories?
- No. The 90,000–125,000 ILS price is for the scroll and parchment only. A Torah case, rimonim, crown, ark and dedications are separate items and will appear itemized in the written quote.
- Can a scroll be completed in three months?
- Yes. Most sofrim write one scroll a year, but with us it is possible to arrange completion in about three months with a sofer available for intensive writing. The schedule affects the price.
- What is the price difference between klaf and gevil?
- Gevil is whole-hide, traditionally prepared parchment, and working on it differs from standard processed klaf — both in material cost and in the writing itself. The choice usually follows the community's tradition, and the exact difference appears in the written quote.
- What does a complete package — scroll, case and accessories — cost?
- A Torah scroll (90,000–125,000 ILS) plus a wooden case (from 19,000 ILS) starts at 109,000 ILS. A scroll plus a carbon case in a combined order (from 29,000 ILS) starts at 119,000 ILS. Rimonim, crown, ark and dedication are added in the written proposal according to your choices.
