In short: what a carbon Torah case is and what it costs
A carbon Torah case has a body laid up from carbon-fibre plies (3K and 12K), cured in an autoclave and finished by hand. It is rigid, light relative to its strength, and does not warp with humidity the way wood can. We manufacture and import it directly and do the processing in Israel. The base price is 40,000 ILS, and for clients who also commission the writing of the scroll with us it never goes below 29,000 ILS. Every case is built to the measurements of the actual scroll.

KADOSH³ Carbon Architecture™
Not carbon trim. A carbon structure. The body itself is a carbon-fibre composite engineered from the outset around the requirements of a Torah case.
The new-generation layup is 3K / 12K / 3K: outer 3K plies for a fine, precise surface and a 12K core for structural efficiency.
The layup is vacuum-bagged and autoclave cured through a controlled cycle of heat, vacuum and external pressure. This consolidates the plies and reduces trapped air and internal voids.
Compared with the previous six-ply 6K construction, the new generation reduced body weight by approximately 5%.
After curing the work is manual: flattening, staged sanding, and the final finish — matte or gloss — chosen at order time.
Shell colours: white, black, deep blue, grey, burgundy and green
Carbon shells arrive pre-design in six colours: white, black, deep blue, grey, burgundy and green.
The decorative design, lettering, dedication and the plating — silver or gold — are set on top of the chosen colour.
The same shell colour can be used for the Torah case and its Haftarah case, so the pair reads as one set inside the ark.
When carbon is the better choice
When the scroll is in daily use and handled many times a week.
When the scroll travels: between community sites, abroad, to army units, institutions or events.
When room conditions are not stable — intermittent air conditioning, changing humidity, a nearby window.
When a precise contemporary look with sharp lines is wanted, which is hard to achieve in wood.
Warranty and handling
The carbon warranty covers the case body and structure, as long as it has been kept under the correct conditions.
Recommended storage: 15–30°C and 35%–60% humidity, with no direct sun, fire, liquids or solvents.
Clean with a dry microfibre cloth only; carry with two hands; transport in a rigid case.

- Is carbon stronger than wood?
- In stiffness and structural durability relative to weight, yes — which is why it suits a scroll in intensive use or in transit. Wood is chosen mainly for tradition and appearance.
- Can a carbon case be made for an existing scroll?
- Yes. The existing scroll is measured — parchment height, rolled diameter and total height with the atzei chaim — and the case is built around those figures with working clearance.
